Featuring John Rutter’s exuberant Gloria, accompanied by brass and percussion, our holiday concerts will jubilantly express the essence of the Christmas season. The words “gloria in excelsis Deo,” meaning “glory to God in the highest,” will find a range of expression from reverence to joy. The afternoon concerts are ideal for anyone seeking an entertaining and uplifting holiday outing with family and friends.

In a survey conducted last year, the Rutter Gloria with its ebullient fanfares and exquisite harmonies topped the list of works our singers hoped to someday perform. Our director, Susan Catanese, was inspired to continue the theme with a selection of unique Glorias across a range of styles and eras.  In keeping with Cantata tradition, the 1.5-hour concert will also include an audience sing-along and conclude with Handel’s famous Hallelujah Chorus.  We hope you will join us to celebrate the season in song.

Call our office at (313) 242-7282 (SATB) now for discounted advance tickets ($15 adult, $13 student/senior), available until the day prior to each concert.  Our family package ($30) includes two adults and any number of minor children.  Tickets will be sold at the door at our regular prices ($18 adult, $16 student/senior) on each concert day, as capacity allows.  All seating is general admission (first come, first served).
